DataVirtuality in the German Accelerator Program

Leipzig, 09.07.2014: Data Virtuality, provider of the data warehousing solution datavirtuality, is one of 16 German start-ups participating in the German Accelerator in the USA in the second half of the year.

“The German Accelerator represents a great chance for us to also market our data warehouse software internationally,” explains Dr. Nick Golovin, CEO and Founder of Data Virtuality GmbH. “We are delighted at the opportunity to expand our network on the ground in the most significant location of the IT and computer industry, as well as to establish new business relationships.”

The company will receive the following support measures in addition to office space:

  • A review of the business plan to verify suitability for the US market and further internationalization (global benchmarking)
  • Improved access to the technological and financial resources of the world’s leading IT cluster
  • Contact to insiders with know-how and potential customers

The Leipzig-based company won over the jury with its revolutionary approach to the simple connection of heterogeneous data sources: using datavirtuality, both relational and non-relational data sources may be consolidated and made available for analysis via SQL queries — this also applies to real-time data. In addition, the software can act as a central data cockpit, allowing all source systems and processing systems to freely interchange data. Thus, datavirtuality can be used for classic business intelligence analysis approaches as well as for planning scenarios and for the integration of diverse systems.

“Due to the growing importance of big data for companies of all sizes, Data Virtuality’s solution captures perfectly the spirit of the times,” says Oliver Hanisch, COO of German Accelerator Inc. “The underlying technological concept of data virtualization won over our jury and we wish the Data Virtuality team success on their way into the American market.”

About German Accelerator

The German Accelerator — a mentoring program for German start-ups from the information and communications technology sector — affords participants a three- to six-month stay in Silicon Valley and New York City. The program is funded in part by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) as well as by a variety of private partners and sponsors. The vision of the German Accelerator program is to establish a permanent connection between Germany and the American market that will facilitate transatlantic start-ups, provide inspiration and promote demand, innovations, research and development in Germany. About Data Virtuality

Data Virtuality GmbH develops and distributes the software datavirtuality, which affords companies an especially simple means of integrating and connecting a variety of data and applications. The solution is revolutionizing the technological concept of data virtualization and generates a data warehouse consisting of relational and non-relational data sources in just a few days. Using integrated connectors, the data can be immediately processed in analysis, planning or statistics tools or written back to source systems as needed. The data warehouse also automatically adjusts to changes in IT landscape and user behavior, which lends companies using datavirtuality the highest possible degree of flexibility and swiftness with minimum administrative overhead. Founded in 2012, the Leipzig-based company originated from a research initiative of the Chair of Information Technology at the Universität Leipzig and is financed by Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS) and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF).
